You can find the kien app in the iOS App Store or Google Playstore by searching for ‘kien’. Or simply click one of the links or scan one of the QR codes here on the right.

First time pairing

1. First run? Plug the charger and wait for the SAT to power on automatically.
2. Shortly after the blinking white the LED indicates the battery level with green/yellow/red.
3. Is the LED blinking pink? Press the Mode button (second button from the top) once and wait for the LED to blink blue.

(Connect &) Play

A Leader SAT will automatically go into Standby Mode within 15 minutes of inactivity. See chapter ‘Standby Mode’.

To learn more about running firmware updates go to ‘ ‘Enable Stereo Sound’.
The settings of a connected Follower SAT are the same as the settings of a Leader SAT.

Want to add more Follower SATs? Simply repeat step 1 to 4 for each SAT you’d like to add. 
Follower SATs that are not paired with a Leader SAT or cannot reconnect to it blink pink and will go into Standby Mode within 15 minutes. See chapter ‘

If the charger is
not plugged, the SAT (Leader/Follower) powers off automatically after 15 minutes of Standby Mode. 

LED Indicator Legend

Below is an overview of the main colours and behaviours of the LED indicator. 

GREEN/YELLOW/RED - Battery Status

Green: Full battery level. 

Yellow: Medium battery level.

Red: Low battery level. It will flash red every 10 seconds. When the LED becomes solid red, the battery is critically low. Connect the SAT to the charger!

The battery level is indicated at two instances: - Shortly after initialization of the speaker when it is turned on. The blinking white is followed by the color that relates to the battery level (with green/yellow/red). - When the power supply unit is plugged in.

Connect SUB to Wi-Fi

1. When the LED starts blinking yellow it can take up to 3 minutes for JB-DIRECT to appear. Want to learn more about JB-DIRECT, please head over to the FAQ.
2. Already clicked through the Welcome screens without having set up the SUB? Click ‘No, First Time’ on the SUB dashboard to see them again.

Changing the channel is only possible when two or more Follower SATs are grouped to the SUB.
Surround Sound channels become available when four or more Follower SATs have been grouped to the SUB.

Firmware Update

The updated Follower SATs automatically reconnect to the SUB after the SUB has been updated.

Only SATs are able to go to Standby Mode in order to save battery life. The SUB can only power on or off.  
If the charger is plugged, the SAT (Leader/Follower) stays in Standby Mode until you press the Power button again or pair to it with your device.
